87grilloswas originally (2008) the initial name of Elías Aguirre’s Vallecas, Madrid-based company. Currently 87grillos represents a type of work that combines dance and gestural theater as one of the varied projects that make up the company Elías Aguirre.
This project was entitled “Where the crickets chirp”.
Characters in an imaginary park interact as if it were an ecosystem with its own internal balance. Girls, mimes, homeless and other individuals follow one another in encounters where the language used is contemporary dance, urban dance, gestural humor and video projections.
A space enclosed in the city that in turn gives life to it, it is the lung of the city. The only place “where the crickets sound”.
